Linux Administrator - San Jose
Description
- 5+ years experience administering Red Hat and CentOS Linux systems required.
- 5+ years experience administering Microsoft Windows Servers required.
- Experience implementing and maintaining a computer farm with high availability.
- Extensive experience with VMware ESX/ESXi..
- Proficiency and experience with SAN and iSCSI technologies is required (NetApp preferred).
- Experience with open source packages, including but not limited to, Cacti, MRTG, Nagios and OSSIM.
- Solid knowledge of load balancers and Cisco networking equipment.- Experience in analysis and system performance tuning as well as troubleshooting network problems.
- Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP.
- Fluent in Perl and Shell Scripting, with experience implementing automation and monitoring using shell scripting and other related tools
- Experience with Apache and Tomcat and MySQL.
- BS or above in Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent job experience.
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
- Achievement oriented person, able to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to document work.
- Familiarity with DBMS systems such as MySQL, SQLServer, and/or Oracle is a major plus.
- Experience with Source code control systems, and bug tracking systems like JIRA
- Ability to work with open source software.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, able to work independently as well as a team player.- Achievement oriented person, able to multi-task and work under pressure.
